She’s been part of Women Connect since the very beginning, like way back after COVID when we were all relearning how to talk to humans again. Makena attended the original Brentwood and Nashville launch events in March of 2021 and quickly realized two things, she loved this community, and she wasn’t leaving anytime soon.

That love eventually turned into launching and leading the Spring Hill chapter, which she had the honor of running for a full year. Building that chapter, watching friendships form, businesses grow, and women show up for each other was one of her proudest seasons, and yes, it came with plenty of stories she still laughs about.

Today, Makena runs Makena Creative, where she helps women entrepreneurs create brands and websites that actually feel like them and work just as hard as they do. She’s known for mixing strategy with personality, keeping things honest and approachable, and reminding women that you can build a successful business and have fun doing it.
